favehotel Solo (Manahan Solo and Solo Baru) brings creative inspiration by crafting a unique, eco-friendly Christmas tree made from recycled paper egg trays. This idea stemmed from a concern over the large volume of egg tray waste generated daily from food menus, such as breakfast, à la carte dishes, and meeting packages that use eggs as a primary ingredient.
As part of its go-green program, favehotel Solo (Manahan Solo and Solo Baru) took the initiative to transform used paper egg trays into a beautiful and meaningful Christmas tree. The creation process took two months, beginning with collecting the egg trays, cleaning, applying antibacterial spray, drying, and finally assembling them into a Christmas tree.
At favehotel Manahan Solo, around 100 used paper egg trays were needed to construct the Christmas tree. Meanwhile, favehotel Solo Baru used nearly 500 paper egg trays to create a 7-meter-tall Christmas tree with a 3-meter diameter.
This year’s theme, “Miracle Christmas” embodies the philosophy of simplicity, environmental care, and the importance of teamwork throughout the creation process. The Christmas tree serves as a symbol of collaboration and spirit, spreading a positive message to all guests.
Khuswatus Solikhin, Hotel Manager of favehotel Solo, shared his hopes:
"Through this Christmas tree creation, we aim to convey that even the simplest things can be transformed into something beautiful and meaningful. We hope this year’s Christmas spirit brings miracles, joy, and peace to all our guests and the favehotel Solo (Manahan Solo and Solo Baru) team."
The paper egg tray Christmas tree is not just a unique decoration but also a tangible representation of favehotel Solo (Manahan Solo and Solo Baru) commitment to environmental sustainability and harmony. Let’s spread the Christmas spirit filled with miracles and hope for everyone.
